Transing the Gay Away

Gender non-conforming children targeted for transitioning – the new conversion therapy.
Though there are no objective scientific criteria for diagnosing a transgender identity, and even though studies report that up to 98% of children identifying as transgender accept their sex by adulthood, medical interventions are promoted by transgender advocacy groups. A medical treatment protocol called the “gender affirmative model” includes puberty blockers around age 10, cross-sex hormones around age 14, and surgery anytime between 13 and 18. Known effects of the gender affirmative model include osteoporosis in early
adulthood, life-threatening cardiovascular disease, and permanent sterility. The effects of the long-term use of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones are largely unknown.

Given that the markers for ‘trans children’ are gender non-conforming behavior, it is typically children who would otherwise grow up to be homosexual or bisexual, who are being caught up in the craze to transition.

When gender affirmation is made mandatory in legislation, we have in effect a state-sanctioned conversion therapy targeting the LGB who are put on a pathway of sterilization and lifelong medical treatment.

In countries such as Iran where homosexuality is a crime punishable by death, mandatory affirmation policy is followed through with surgical sex reassignment to rid Iran of homosexuals and other gender non-conforming individuals; lesbians and gay men are forced to live as the opposite sex, or otherwise face execution. This is homophobic and yet the Australian states of ACT, Victoria, and Queensland (with others to follow) are encouraging young gender non-conforming LGB people to medically transition and live as the opposite sex in appearance so that they may conform to societal expectations of what it means to be a man or a woman.
